Hermes, Thoth, Merkür, Hanok (Enoch) veya İdris; Tanrı ile insan arasındaki aracı ve yardımcı, yeraltı ile yerüstü arasındaki bağlantıyı sağlayan gizemli kişi, bazılarına göre peygamber, filozof, bilge, Anubis ile birlikte ölülere eşlik eden insan, büyücü, simyacı, bilim ve yazının atası, ilk vücut geliştirme ustası ve daha birçok öğretici unvanla bilinir. Yunan tanrısı Hermes ile Mısır Tanrısı Thoth isimli iki tanrı figürünün kaynaşmasıyla ortaya çıkan Hermes-Thoth, en çok da kadim çağların bilgeliğini Tufan'dan kaçıran kişi olarak anılır.
