The machine works great for sewing through blue jeans as long as you use the right needle, such as heavy duty or denim needles. The machine is also great for quilting and does not require any extra presser foot, even when sewing through many layers of fabric. However, some customers found the foot pedal cord to be too short and lacking flexibility for placement. The machine can use generic supplies available at local fabric stores, such as Schmetz or Organ needles and Distinctive presser feet. Users should avoid using anything Singer or Brother on this machine. The machine includes a 4-stage buttonhole, which is easy to use but not automatic like an electronic machine. The buttonhole is a standard type for non-stretch fabrics, while stretch fabrics require a special-designed buttonhole stitch. The machine sews beautifully and with ease, is easy to thread, and comes with a good instruction book. However, the letters on the machine are basically useless, and the plastic extended parts for the thread spools and the cover for the bobbin casing may not last. In general, customers found the machine to be a pleasure to use and easy to understand.
