The protein skimmer that comes with it is made of plastic and does not work well, according to one user. To change the lightbulb, small screws on each corner of the hood and some in the center must be unscrewed. The pump pushes water hard, but it can be reduced by wrapping a zip tie around the flexible hose connecting the pump to the display tank.
