Science Fiction Editorial Review

The Doctor Who: Oblivion Volume 3 paperback collection gathers the third volume of comic strips featuring the Eighth Doctor from Doctor Who Monthly. Previously in black and white, this collection has been finally released in full colour. It starts with Ophidius, an arc that runs up to the last story, Oblivion. Along the way, the duo encounters underwater Daleks, Fey Truscott-Sade, and even meets Frida Kahlo to name a few events. The comic tackles themes of self-discovery, identity, politics, modern art, and has playful commentaries. The artwork adapts the new colour scheme wonderfully with engaging visual cues that match the dialogues. Although it has some clunky and cheesy moments, it is fun to read and recommended for fans to add to their collection.
